How to uninstall AOL on Windows XP

AOL is fairly simple to uninstall on XP, however if it has hijacked your web browser - usually Internet Explorer - then the solution is slightly more complex.

America Online comes pre-installed on many Vista computers and can be a pain to uninstall. If it has taken over your Internet Explorer (or any other web browser), then it can be even trickier to reclaim. This guide will take you through the process in two easy steps.

How to uninstall AOL 8.0 and 9.0 on Windows XP

1. Close down AOL

2. Click on Start Menu: Control Panel

3. Add/Remove Programs: Find AOL then click on Add/Remove

4. Click on AOL then click Remove

5. Restart computer IF prompted.
